I liked that this book drew you in, like you were standing there and you could see everyone. I liked Grace and Ivan and their relationship. The bad guys' names were very hard to say! I did like the way that the barrier around the family's home was protecting them, but the demons across the road could still see them, so the family weren't really safe. This was worrying and increased the tension in the story.
One thing I didn't like was that the story was based on Joe more than it was based on Grace. I would have liked to see more of Grace's telepathy and I hope this happens in Book 2, which I am eagerly waiting for.
Mammon had great characterisation and most of the scenes felt fast paced. The book kept me turning the pages to find out more. The dialogue was well thought out and there were lots of good shocks, twists and turns. The ending had me wanting more and left me dying to know what happens next. I would say that readers between the ages of 13 and 19 would like this book. I give Mammon five stars for being a fantastic book. Dying to know when the sequel comes out!
